Orange Shirt Day: Every Child Matters

At Highland Elementary, students and staff joined Lake Shore schools in recognizing Orange Shirt Day, a day that honors Indigenous children, families, and communities affected by residential schools.
High school Seneca language students led interactive lessons, teaching Highland students about Seneca language, culture, and traditions, and explaining the story behind the Every Child Matters movement.
Students wore orange to show unity and respect, celebrating learning and understanding across generations.
💚🧡 Highland stands together in the belief that Every Child Matters.
